Cheryl Caracuzzo

Cheryl Caracuzzo is a retired Florida Circuit Court Judge and former state trial prosecutor. Admitted to The Florida Bar in 1996, she began her legal career as a prosecutor and tried hundreds of jury trials involving serious and complex criminal matters.

In 2015, Cheryl was appointed to the Circuit Court bench for Florida’s Fifteenth Judicial Circuit. During more than a decade of judicial service, she presided over hundreds of civil, criminal, and family law matters. Her civil caseload included insurance disputes, automobile negligence, bad faith, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, negligent security, construction defects, defamation, premises liability, product liability, and eminent domain. She also handled complex felony proceedings, including sexual assault, robbery, and murder, as well as a broad range of family, probate, guardianship, paternity, and adoption matters.

Cheryl also served as an associate judge on Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal, where she participated in appellate proceedings, concurred in several opinions and authored an opinion.

Drawing upon nearly three decades of legal experience—including nearly two decades as a trial lawyer and more than a decade on the bench—Cheryl understands the legal, financial, and personal challenges that accompany litigation. She brings a thoughtful, impartial, and practical perspective to her work as a mediator, arbitrator, and special magistrate.

Her goal is to provide a fair, efficient, and respectful process that helps parties resolve disputes while minimizing the expense, delay, and uncertainty of continued litigation.
